Kota Palembang, Provinsi Sumatera Selatan, punya banyak potensi yang memungkinkan menjadi salah satu kota ikonik di Indonesia.
Penilaian ini disampaikan Wakil Ketua Badan Kerja Sama Antar Parlemen Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Republik Indonesia (BKSAP DPR RI), Achmad Hafisz Tohir, saat kunjungan kerja BKSAP ke Pemerintah Kota Palembang, Jumat (10/9/2021).
Selain Hafisz, hadir pula dri BKSAP, antara lain, Fadli Zon, Primus Yustisio, serta beberapa anggota lainnya.
Kunjungan kerja itu dalam rangka sosialisasi Diplomasi Parlemen “BKSAP Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Day”.
Hafisz menyampaikan penilaian itu usai mendengarkan paparan Wali Kota Palembang H Harnojoyo, terkait capaian maupun program pembangunan ibu kota Provinsi Sumsel ini.
Dalam paparan itu, Harnojoyo juga menyampaikan upaya Pemkot Palembang dalam menanggulangi banjir hingga penyediaan air bersih melalui embung konservasi bagi masyarakat.
"Tadi beliau juga sudah mempresentasikan bagaimana beliau membangun stabilization ponds untuk air bersih yang dipergunakan untuk air minum," ujar Hafisz.
Ia mengatakan BKSAP DPR akan terus berupaya mendorong Palembang dalam kemajuan perbangunan. Apalagi, banyak potensi di Kota Tertua di Indonesia ini. Antara lain budaya, kuliner, hingga pariwisata.
Terkait pendanaan program pembangunan, misalnya embung konservasi, Hafisz mengatakan pihaknya akan mengecek lagi.
"Kalau memang (dana) bisa didorong dari Pusat, nanti kita dorong. Tetapi kalau memang tidak bisa, nanti kita carikan skema yang lain," kata politisi dari Fraksi Partai Amanat Nasional (F-PAN).
Menurut Hafisz, selain potensi budaya, kuliner maupun pariwisatanya, Palembang bisa menjadi ikon bagi Indonesia karena punya infrastruktur yang baik.
"Pertama, Kota Palembang telah mempunyai LRT. Kedua Palembang juga sudah memadai sebagai kota atlet. Siapa tahu nanti bisa menjadi penyelenggara Olimpiade. Ke depan, Palembang bisa diandalkan di tataran Nasional, asal kita semua bisa bersatu, yaitu rakyat, eksekutif dan legislatif," ujar Hafisz. .
Dalam pertemuan itu, Hafisz juga memaparkan terkait peranan BKSAP yakni sebagai diplomasi ataupun Second Track Diplomacy setelah Pemerintah.
Wali Kota Palembang, Harnojoyo, mengungkapkan rasa syukurnya atas kehadiran dari DPR RI yang tergabung dalam BKSAP.
"Luar biasa, wawasan ilmu yang disampaikan sehubungan dengan sosialisasi terkait dengan tugas mereka," kata Harnojoyo.
BKSAP DPR RI, kata Harnojoyo, merupakan suatu etalase dunia dalam mendiplomasikan terkait apa yang menjadi potensi ataupun keunggulan daerah.
"Mudah-mudahan terkait dengan keunggulan kita, baik dari budaya, kuliner dan sebagainya ini nanti akan ditindak lanjuti. Bukan tidak mungkin, seperti empek-empek akan mendunia," kata Harnojoyo.
Wali Kota Palembang dua periode itu juga berharap kepada BKSAP DPR RI untuk dapat terus melakukan promosi, baik Dapil, ataupun daerah-daerah sehingga dapat betul-betul menjadi model.
"Sehingga nantinya orang-orang akan hadir ke Indonesia,. Tentunya dengan Kota Palembang yang banyak memiliki potensi, baik budaya, kuliner hingga pariwisata," ujar Harnojoyo. (*)
