Dinas Kesehatan Kota Palembang terus menggencarkan sosialisasi kepada masyarakat untuk mewaspadai dan mencegah penyakit Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD).
Sosialisasi bertujuan memberikan informasi cara pencegahan DBD agar korban tidak terus bertambah. Antara lain dengan menerapkan 3 M.
“Harus selalu ingat 3 M, yakni menguras, menutup dan mengubur,” ujar Sub Koordinator Pencegahan dan Pengendalian Penyakit Menular (P2P) Dinkes Palembang, Yudhi Setiawan, Selasa (27/9/2022).
Menguras dilakukan dengan membersihkan tempat yang sering dijadikan tempat penampungan air seperti bak mandi, ember air, tempat penampungan air minum, penampung air lemari es dan lain-lain.
Menutup, yakni menutup rapat-rapat tempat-tempat penampungan air seperti drum, kendi, toren air, dan lain sejenisnya.
Adapun mengubur yakni dengan barang bekas yang memiliki potensi untuk jadi tempat perkembangbiakan nyamuk penular DBD.
Yudhi juga mengatakan bahwa yang rentan terkena DBD ialah anak-anak, balita, maupun bayi.
“Penyebab anak-anak mudah terkena penyakit DBD ini salah satunya karena daya tahan tubuh anak itu sendiri. Karena usia bawah lima tahun atau balita memang cenderung lebih rentan dan sering berada di dalam rumah," jelasnya.
Lebih lanjut, Yudhi menuturkan, menurut Ikatan Dokter Anak Indonesia (IDAI), DBD yang menyerang anak-anak dipengaruhi karena mereka sering menghabiskan waktu di ruangan.
“Anak-anak kan pasti lebih sering di dalam ruangan, sementara ruangan memiliki risiko paling tinggi, nyamuk DBD berkumpul apabila lingkungan tidak bersih. Seperti ruangan dengan kondisi lembab dan gelap,” Yudhi menerangkan.
Dia juga mengimbau para orangtua untuk bereaksi cepat saat anak mereka menderita demam dengan membawa ke fasilitas kesehatan terdekat.
Karena, sepanjang tahun 2022 ini, tercatat ada 7 anak-anak di Palembang meninggal akibat DBD.
"Tingkatkan kewaspadaan dan menjaga pola hidup bersih dan sehat agar tidak ada korban tambahan akibat DBD, terutama anak-anak," demikian Yudhi Setiawan. (*)
